I Astronaut

Through conception we arrived on this planet, Mother Earth- we call it. We haven’t a clue from whence we came and where we’re going. But like that astronaut, who travels beyond our sky, we are explorers. We are the eyes of an intelligence that can never be duplicated. And with these eyes we should explore. We should seek a basic understanding of man and his habitation. We should ask questions like; what should we eat? What should we do? What should we strive for? How can we get the best living out of this thing called the body, that our spirit has been attached to? We should be relentless in our observations like the absorption of a sponge, taking in nothing but the best nourishment for our bodies and our minds.

At some time in the past every man was on a quest to find himself. But somewhere, somehow, we lost this natural propensity to be inquisitive. And in its place, we’ve become somewhat like- programmed mannequins, as we move about in this “Sea of the Dead”, as a buddy of mine likes to put it.  We live mere copy-cat lives. “Let’s Google it” we say, and with that millions of possible answers are readily available in seconds. But they could be wrong answers! And unless we take a personal initiative to explore for ourselves, the information we gather is no more than B.S., and we all know what that means. But just like that astronaut who explores but returns home, we to must return to our true essence. Such a long journey, but it’s worth it.

    1. I believe we give up because we are not definite in our desires. When you are definite you’re obsessed with your desires….this day and age there are too many distractions to be that obsessed, and as we rid ourselves of the unnecessary distractions, we’ll get what we desire.. thank you for the comment…

      3. I believe when I serve my true passion giving up is never an option or a true desire. The challenge is uncovering what that passion is… thus we have a life journey to help us do that.

  3. I agree with your thinking. But don’t you think we are way too conditioned to being programed robots to get perfect answers ourselves? I feel God is the only person who can give perfect answers to all these questions. Read Bhagavad gita, I tried and got all my questions answered to the best of satisfaction. Please try!

    1. Thank you for the compliment, it was very uplifting. I have read the Bhagavad Gita also, about8 years ago. I believe in never professing perfection, but I seek understanding. ” I know what I know not, and that I know very little”– said Socrates. The understanding is what I’m after, so in this particular post, I was saying exactly what you are saying, in that,we are ” conditioned” like ” programmed robots”, and somehow I feel we must escape this ” unnatural” state of being. We will never be perfect, so let’s leave that to a power greater than man, just as you said.

  4. The “University of Google” can be useful at times but in the end, we all have the solutions and answers we’re looking for within ourselves. We just need to take the time to find them and question things. I like your blog, thank you for following mine! 🙂

  8. Yeah, what did we do before Google? Called the library or visit a book store, of course! I’m starting to believe the Earth has recycled itself several times over, and we presently are at the cusp of another cataclysmic renewal. I won’t wait for the “End Times” however. I’m going to enjoy as much as I can now. But I still don’t know if I should make concerted efforts to pay off my student loans.

    Either way, keep writing and keep fighting!

    In this post you gave a challenge for the reader to explore, I often do this in speeches etc but you must be then willing to lead by example. How long has it been since you did something completely new?

    1. It’s been awhile since I’ve done anything new. Procrastination is the thief of time. I live in West Palm Beach about 3 hours north of the keys. Beautiful area though. As always, thanks for the comments. It gives me the inspiration to do something completely new.

  18. Perseverance is the most important talent in any endeavor. Keep on keeping on!
    I love the description “copy cat lives!” Perfect description. Some of us spend the first half of our lives struggling to get free of our cultural and parental programming. But it’s worth the struggle, because the second half of our lives we get to dance joyously naked in our own skin! I enjoyed your post and look forward to reading more.

Sometimes, I feel we are running in a spinning wheel, getting so busy with “things” all day, and then exhausted, once at home, we try to relax and get brainwashed or “programmed” with so much propaganda to buy, shop and buy….we go on automatic pilot, forgetting to use our intuition to tap into the great source and reconnect to that infinite Wisdom. We need to stop and deprogram ourselves, start thinking about what are the things that truly matter, and search for that inner essence once again.

I believe a lot of the loss of knowledge of who WE ARE came about as a result of witch burning, which killed half the knowledge that remained after the male god wiped out the ELEUSYNIAN mysteries. it was not a cult, it was the way of thinking before the male only archetypical GOD became dominant. We are “god” because we create the concept of a god who can make a human. Before this concept , male and female were equal, gods goddesses and humans were somewhat different. We are reclaiming the old knowing and making it new. WE ARE ONE. we blog, we rhyme, we do it all the time. we are what we are.

  26. Return home? Where’s our home in this universe? When the universe itself is within us , where do we return to? The search has to happen within, as the answer lies within.
    There’s neither the Google nor the sea of the dead once you turn inwards. So, no one but yourself can find the answer.. there’ll be no wrong answers, whatever you find within is the truth.
