About

Hi, my name is Th’Andre’ Lightsey “AKA”, ANANSI2050 on word press. It all happened in a flash. I was listening to some motivational speeches as I always do, and then it hit me, I had an epiphany. I recall reading some things that I had written years ago, around 2001 or so, and saying to myself, “damn–I’m not too bad”. At that moment, I had found my joy– writing, somewhat of a gift I unknowingly had all the time. Although it has taking years to learn the craft of writing and I am still a novice at best, it’s been a wonderful journey. As a recommendation from a friend, I began to blog my ideas. Remember, these are just my ideas, not much science or religion involved here. The only requirement is to  think. And if anything I blog sparks your attention, rather ingenious or absurd, please feel free to correct me, but be ready for a debate. I’ve come to my reasoning through trial and error, but I am not too stubborn to acknowledge another opinion, and I am not too quick to accept either. I try my best to stay fair and neutral, devoid of unnecessary biases. They seem to cloud the thinking processes. I live in “Sunny” South Florida on the east coast, near the beaches, and I am going to accomplish the greatest fete of all, to become one of the most  accomplished writers of thought and philosophy in the 21st Century.

  1. Hello Th’Andre’,

I am so pleased you visited my blog as it has led me to yours. You appear to be a young man of much wisdom (unless you are much older now and that is a photo from long ago LOL). I am very new at this but have been journaling for more decades than I’d like to reveal. Writing, I have found, is an interesting path to self-discovery.

I agree with much of what you have shared. And it is important to think — for oneself, and deeply, not like a hurried kiss brushed against a cheek. Technology is teaching people to become sheep (my opinion) and it is disconnecting them on a personal level. Yes, I know, we can reach people all over the world more quickly now and yes, it was great to connect to the thoughts on your blog but, to me, nothing takes the place of looking someone in the eye and seeing the expression on their face or inflection in their voice (my opinion). Sadly, our society seems to be longing for human connection yet is addicted to shallow technology (my opinion).

You are a wonderful writer and deep thinker. If you have not read Thich Nhat Hanh you may enjoy his teachings. I look forward to hearing more of your thoughts!

  2. It’s a long, hard road you’ve set yourself to follow, but good luck in your endeavours. I have been a travel writer in the print media for many years, only taking to blogging a few years ago when I got fed up with too-neat deadlines which got in the way of my enjoyment of travel. I’ve also published many short stories but these days because of changing tastes, I go for short story competitions where my ideas seem more acceptable. Life changes: we change with it or get out. You are starting optimism and enthusiasm, no reson why you don’t succeed.

  3. You and I have traveled the same path. I NEVER considered writing several years ago but find it really stimulating and helps keep my “in the loop”. I write mostly about the STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) professions. I love your thoughts and your web site and will certainly be a follower. Take care.

  4. That is some goal, and I hope you’ve got the time you need for it to happen.
And welcome to my blog. As you have probably noted, I’m into photography more than writing. Besides – English is not my native language, thus being a world famous writer is utterly out of the question! 🙂

      1. Hi Anansi –
Our cleaner has flagged your profile twice this month since you have obviously had no time to visit us for quite some time? Both times I was present and could stop it from deleting your profile from our registry files, but – one day I may not be here
when it happens. And if you’re really interested in photography, it won’t take much to make sure it doesn’t happen?!
