Heart of Gold

After reading the Alchemist three times, I must admit, I’m intrigued by it even more than the first read. There’s soo much meat there for a serious observer, or for one who thinks. All sorts of ideas and concepts can be drawn from this little tale. I for one think about the idea of the heart, and how it can be hardened by fear alone. Or– how it can tell you of yourself and your destiny if you take the time to look beyond your fears and keep focus on your treasure. The Alchemist is able to turn a mere piece of metal to gold, says the myth. So– in a way we should be performing that same miracle. We should strip away the junk and garbage that we allow to pollute our minds and bodies. The heart speaks a language soo softly, that the polluted mind can’t hear, better yet, comprehend. Some call it intuition, I say it’s the soul of the world, with our hearts standing as commander. We should be looking beyond our fears and developing a heart of gold, it’s magical.

  1. I’ve never read it, but if you like it enough to do so three times perhaps I should try it. I’ve read a few books twice but I don’t think I’ve ever read any book three times. (Of course, I’ve read individuals paragraphs dozens of times when my brain’s interest in the content was up against my body’s interest in going to sleep.

      1. Short, simple, easy to read books are my favorite kind! I’d vaguely heard the name before but knew nothing about it, but after checking it out on Amazon it’s clear that it’s a book that has touched many people. I’m intrigued.

  2. I’ve read the book at least two times. Maybe it’s a good time to read it again now that everyone seems to have hardened their hearts in fear.

  3. Be careful! If you follow intuition, you’ll fall into all types of pothole (life-experience). And, if you won’t then, you might stay thirsty for rest of your life.Best of all, if you could see and follow dreams. 🙂 Great Post! Thanks for the like and follow.

  4. I like your posts so far. First thank you for the likes 🙃. I have not read the alchemist yet but have hear lots about it and it’s on my list of to-dos. I would add this little tidbit of information. Gold itself is a very interesting substance. If you want to find the real gold from the rest of the nonsense it has been said that you put all the materials into one pot and set it all on fire. All the impurities will burn away and you will be left with only the gold. Another angle to look at it from?
